Areas of Special Expertise:

As a professional Clinical Psychologist for more than 25 years, I have an extensive experience in psychotherapy for: anxiety, depression, stress, grief, identity issues, marital and cross-cultural problems. For 5 years I worked at The Netherlands Cancer Institute for a Quality-of-Life research program in projects measuring subjective feelings of well-being in cancer patients. After my arrival in Japan(1984) I started to work mainly with groups dealing with cancer, death, grief, marriage problems and cross-cultural issues. Later on, I started to work with individuals and couples. My clinical experience and continuing education led me to the integrative approach in psychotherapy. My years working in mental hospitals in The Netherlands and Japan has helped deepen my knowledge in psychopathology, too.
