Bio I am a clinical psychologist and play therapist in private practice in Tokyo. I see clients of all ages with varying issues, and specialize in treating children (infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents) and their families, parenting, post-trauma survivors and multicultural individuals/couples/families. I incorporate neurodevelopmentally based play and activities in treatment with all my clients regardless of age, in order to utilize the whole brain in working through that which concerns the client. I work from a psychodynamic perspective and am prescriptive in use of treatment modalities. I am a co-founder of Japan Association for Play Therapy, and conduct workshops and supervise, professional mental health clinicians throughout Japan, as well as provide post-trauma support to survivors and professionals of various natural disasters.

Trauma work:
Post-disaster trauma support work: Providing post-disaster psychological support to survivors of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake Tsunami and nuclear disaster and the Kumamoto Earthquake through JAPT funded by UNICEF Japan,
Provided direct psychological assistance to Sri Lankan tsunami orphans through Operation USA and Association for Play Therapy (USA) post the 2004 Pacific Rim Earthquake and Tsunami, and
trained hospital staff at the Niigata Prefectural Mental Health Medical Center regarding response and treatment to the 2004 Chuetsu earthquake.
Invited to present at the 7th annual trauma conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
