O’SULLIVAN, Brian
As a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety and OCD. I strive to provide a supportive space where you can openly explore your concerns, and where we can identify practical strategies to address the challenges you’re facing.
Though much of my work is focused on anxiety, I'm experienced in and may be able to assist with other concerns: sadness, loneliness, relationship concerns, career challenges, cultural adjustment, and life transitions.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also draw from mindfulness-based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. Ongoing training and professional consultation are central to my practice to support ethical care and ongoing professional development.
I earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at Dominican University of California and became licensed in California in 2020. I first moved to Japan in 2009 and have been in private practice since 2021. My professional journey has taken me through various settings in the San Francisco Bay Area and Japan, including a non-profit mental health clinic, public and private schools, UCLA, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
