SUROVEC, Sabrina
I have seven years of experience as a crisis counselor, and am now setting out on my own to create a private practice specializing in LGBTQIA+ issues and historical trauma as a clinical mental health counselor. The foundation of my counseling style rests on a philosophical background of existentialist and intersectional feminist thought. Person-Centered, Solution-Focused Therapy informs my therapeutic practice. My specialties and areas of interest include: LGBTQIA+ issues, trans health, historical trauma, crisis response, sexual health and Safe, Sane, Consensual kink practices, multiculturalism and acculturation difficulties, and PTSD.
I am nationally certified through the NBCC (the National Board for Certified Counselors) and licensed as a therapist (MHCA) through the state of Washington. I am also a member of the ACA (American Counseling Association). My schooling includes a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and additional training in emergency/crisis mental health first aid.
In my free time, I enjoy karaoke, tabletop role-playing games, writing, drawing, photography, putting on concerts, cooking, long-distance running, and weight-lifting.
