Presentations
Our distinguished guest this year is our first ever IMHPJ Award recipient, Junko Kitanaka, Ph.D., whose substantial research and writing on mental health in Japan, indeed, Medical Anthropology, provides an incredible resource for understanding the historical, social and cultural threads that shape the experience, treatment and therapy of depression. Our IMHPJ Clinical Member, Chie Sawa, will introduce you to Psychological First Aid, an extremely valuable training given the increase of natural disasters worldwide, and prevalence of earthquakes in Japan. (For a preview of the material to be covered, visit: https://www.nctsn.org/treatments-and-practices/psychological-first-aid-and-skills-for-psychological-recovery/about-pfa.)
