IMBRIE (Tezuka), Andrew
As a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist (LCMFT – State of Kansas, USA) with a doctorate, specializing in relational system dynamics, with over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy, I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and organizations, helping them navigate a wide range of psychological and relational challenges.
My expertise spans diverse areas, including relationship issues (from cross-cultural relationship, romantic breakups, extramarital affairs, and complex divorces), life phase challenges (partner selection, career and life transitions, grief, and loss), parent-child relationships, mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders), neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, OCD), addiction, trauma, and personality disorders. These cases have been addressed in various settings—including universities, community mental health centers, private practices, and inpatient psychiatric units—and within diverse cultural contexts in the USA, Japan, and beyond.
This broad professional experience enables me to provide a culturally sensitive, integrative, and practical approach, tailored to each client's unique needs. My counseling focuses on guiding clients toward alleviation, resolution, and restoration by enhancing self-awareness, embracing change, acquiring skills, and fostering the courage to accept the unchangeable graciously. I approach every case collaboratively, with sensitivity, compassion, and creativity.
As an ordained minister, I also offer an integrative Christian counseling perspective for those seeking a faith-based approach. I have the privilege of assisting numerous churches and Christian leaders in Japan and overseas, recognizing the unique challenges and often isolating path of ministry and leadership.
While my specialization lies in relational system dynamics—working with couples, families, and organizations—I am equally passionate about working with individual clients, where I can provide focused, personalized guidance and empowerment.
